Complementary Medicine

Complementary medicine is a wide range of treatment methods!

Complementary medicine is a broad spectrum of treatment methods and a good complement to the classic “conventional medicine”. There are different methods such as Acupuncture, Neural therapy, TCM, Ayurvedic medicine etc.

An important aspect of complementary medicine is health maintenance. If there is an imbalance between body, mind and environment, this manifests itself physically as a disease.

The complementary medical therapy consists especially in the strengthening of self-healing forces. The patients are motivated to regain their own health.

The Austrian Federal Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection does not favour the term complementary medicine as an alternative to conventional medicine, but as a supplement to conventional medicine.

Ayurveda is originated in the vedic civilization of India more than 5000 years ago. It is the “science of long and healthy life”. It is the oldest active medicine of a high culture.

It has a strong preventive effect in ordinary diseases and in chronic diseases. For example: cardiovascular problems, metabolic diseases, disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, allergic reactions, after chemotherapy and radiation.

The ayurveda medicines are made entirely from natural substances. The body is additionally strengthened through the required treatments of prescribed ayurvedic massages, ayurvedic cleansing and ayurvedic nutrition.

  • Ayurvedic nutritional counseling
  • Ayurvedic massage & wellness
  • Ayurvedic intensive cleansing (Panchakarma)

The principle of any ayurveda treatment is a thorough medical examination. It is specifically diagnosed through the ayurveda point of pulse diagnosis and personal constitution. After this an exact treatment plan is developed.

Bloodletting-Cupping

“Purified blood gives people strength, healthy skin, good looks, a joyous
mental condition and a long life. The blood connects the living beings with their life breath (Carakasamhita Su 24.4). “

Bloodletting is considered a method of systemic cleansing and is suitable for diseases that manifests in the body. An ideal effect is achieved if bloodletting is done early in the morning, after the full moon. The patient should be fasting. Experience has shown that the contaminated blood, which has a dark color, comes out first. On average, 100-120 ml of blood is taken out.

The bloodletting is considered as one among the five most important procedures in Panchakarma. The ayurvedic indications for the bloodletting are mainly by dermatological diseases, inflammatory diseases as well as gouty and pitta-like symptoms (feeling hot, burning, dizziness, aggression).
Bloodletting has also proven to be particularly effective in arterial hypertension, varicose veins and arteriosclerosis.

Cupping is a therapeutic method that has been known for thousands of years. With the aid of cupping, which firmly suck on the skin and cause bruising, dysfunctions can be repaired, pain can be relieved and illnesses can be cured. The method, applied correctly, is harmless and does not cause any adverse side effects. The aim of cupping is to strengthen the self-healing powers or to set it in motion.
